Nim is an 11-year-old girl that lives on a remote island in the south pacific with her dad because her mom got swallowed by a blue whale. When her dad leaves her alone for a couple of days while he searches for protozoa Nim, the bad Buccaneers come but only Nim knows. But Nim uses her imagination to fight them off. I really like it and I think you would like it too! If you like adventure you will like it.

Hmm. I wish I'd watched it when we had it. I guess we'll have to go rent it again.
A mother being swallowed by a whale seems as unlikely as parents being eaten/killed by a crash of rhinoceroses (see James and the Giant Peach). But that was a good movie too.
